Decoding FW's Product Classification

Alpine environments are constantly in flux, and gearing up for a day in the mountains can be complicated. We are here to simplify. FW's apparel has been split into comprehensive product classifications from Waterproof Shells to Base Wear, so that you may thrive in the sun, snow and the rain.

Waterproof Shells are designed to be worn as an outer-most layer—able to withstand the harshest environments. Fabrics used in these garments are warm, waterproof and breathable, making them highly protective and repellent against cold, wet and extreme winter conditions.

Light Shells are designed to be worn as an outer layer, generally in milder conditions. Fabrics used in these garments are warm and breathable, suitable for warmer and less extreme winter conditions.

Puff Layers are designed to be worn underneath a Waterproof Shell as a mid-layer, providing maximum warmth. Filled with insulation materials, these garments provide maximum levels of warmth and heat retention. Also suitable to be worn as an outer layer in dry winter conditions.

Mid Layers are designed to be worn underneath a Waterproof Shell, for comfort and warmth. These garments are designed to provide extra warmth and heat retention. Also suitable as an outer layer in dry winter conditions. 

Leisure Wear garments provide the utmost comfort and are designed to be worn under Mid Layers and outerwear, both on and off the mountain. Made from 100% recycled cotton, these garments are comfortable and ergonomic.

Base Wear garments are designed to be worn as a first layer, directly against your skin, for temperature regulation and comfort. Designed with 90-100% Merino Wool, these garments are the first layer of defense from cold winter conditions, providing excellent heat retention and breathability. 

Accessories are designed to complement FW's 19/20 range. Featuring headwear and more, FW accessories can be worn as stand alone pieces or integrated into your outfit for truly rounded protection from the elements.
